Withdrawal from Tramadol

Day 34 – Recovery

I didn’t sleep very well again last night I was getting hot and cold flushes and was quite sore. I’ve started to come off of my Tramadol and onto anti inflammatories so it might be that plus a cold coming on. NBH took today off so that we could have a day and night in Brighton which was a lovely idea. My step dad kindly dropped us at the station to get the train. We stayed at a hotel we know in Brighton. There’s a lovely free standing bath in the room so i made the most of relaxing when I was in pain. We had lunch at Purezza a vegan restaurant and ate way too much! It was lovely though! I treated NBH to some home baked brownies to say thank you for looking after me whilst I’ve been ill. We went out for one drink and the I was shattered so came back for takeaway at 9:30pm. The takeaway was lovely and again vegan for me! I had my one glass of prosecco although it didn’t make me feel too great.

In total we walked 4.8 miles today! I couldn’t sleep at all I ended up trying meditation and sleep sounds and getting up at 6:30am for a shower then went back to bed and slept for about two hours 😨😪😪

Day 35 – Recovery

I struggled last night to sleep at all 😦 I got up at 6:30am and had a shower then seemed to drift off from 6:45am to 8:30am. I really struggled to go off to sleep! I think this is me withdrawing from Tramadol too quickly. The doctor was keen for me to continue but I didn't want to keep taking it and wanted to get back to work.

I was determined not to let the disease or recovery get me down or ruin our break so I piled on the make up and we left the hotel for the day at 9:30am. We walked along the promenade and had breakfast at Lucky Beach. I had a vegan special with tofu feta, tomatoes, pesto and sour dough and NBH had a full English! It was so warm yet I was shivering. I must have an infection on top of everything else. I was sneezing a lot and feeling hot and cold. (Now I realise this was withdrawal too from the Tramadol). We then walked down to the British Airways experience and took the 11:30am flight. It was such a clear day and so beautiful! We then walked down to the Marina after stopping by at a few shops and had lunch.

We walked a total of 6.2 miles today if that doesn’t wear me out what will?

We headed home after lunch. I wasn’t feeling great bad stomach, hot/cold shivers and generally shattered.

I had a bath at home and put my night clothes on to relax.

Now I’ve taken a Kalms and hopefully off to sleep very soon!

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Thanks so much for taking time out to read my story. I share my story and my journey on Instagram to build awareness about Chronic Illness and endometriosis.

Diagnosis of thoracic endometriosis has been a life changing experience with very little information out there.

Building a community of people who share their own experiences has made a huge difference to me and to others dealing with similar symptoms.

The idea was to support others on their path to diagnosis and treatment with shared experience.

Look after yourself!
