Building up strength

10th September 2018

To do 💟 Relax 💟 Walk 💟 PT 💟 Read 💟 Meditate Journal Today I woke up at 8:30am, had breakfast and rested with Bentley on the sofa and caught up with some TV. I sorted through our finances and found we are ok this month but not next month – we are short by quite a bit. It’s a little stressful. I got paid today but only £370. Which is nothing compared to my usual full time salary! I am trying not to stress about it and focus on getting strong enough to get back to work.

I had a smoothie shake and fed Bentley then headed to my first PT session. I had met the PT and explained my medical history and surgeries. I am someone who always gives 110%. I needed a PT who would make sure I wouldn't hurt myself and impact recovery.

We did some boxing and upper body work and planks and it went really well. I’m pleased with my progress! It’s going to hurt though! I went for a walk after my workout in the park which was lovely. I came back to see Bentley and chilled with him on the sofa and he slept on me. I completed my first Garden Design module with 100% result.

My Mum and step dad came to visit which was nice and stayed for a while. NBH and I made a yummy turkey and veggie curry. It was amazing!!

I went up to bed at 8:30pm as I was shattered and watched TV.

Journal Today I woke up at around 8:30am and went down to see Bentley we sat for a while and cuddled. I had breakfast and sorted my work access so I could get my emails and I had an email from HR regarding my phased return. I asked for OH and next steps on hours and work plans.

I went to my 2nd PT session with Alex and it was really good fun with some boxing, core work and upper body and lots of skipping. He said my fitness level was still there which is good so I just need to build up strength and stamina.

I came back and had lunch and fed Bentley. Then put on some snuggly clothes and laid with Bentley and watched some TV.

I called my Nan and made dinner and Nick took Bentley for a walk. I fed Bentley then went to bed early to relax.

“Positive thought of the day” Today I am so much further forward than I realised and managed 10+ assisted pull ups in my session!

Journal Today I woke up in quite a bit of pain with my period that started last night. I knew it would still be painful as I don’t want to take the hormones so that’s something I’ll either have to live with or decide to try hormones.

I heard from work and I’m due to see my head of team and HR next week for a welfare meeting pre going back. I’m not sure how I feel about work. My manager can be hard to speak to, he is not someone I can open up to.

I had my PT session at 11am and managed to do some lifting and some assisted chin ups so felt quite good about that and it actually helped with the pain which is a plus! I grabbed some lunch and called Nan on the way home. She seemed ok and well.

I got home and rested with Bentley and had an early night.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Thanks so much for taking time out to read my story. I share my story and my journey on Instagram to build awareness about Chronic Illness and endometriosis.

Diagnosis of thoracic endometriosis has been a life changing experience with very little information out there.

Building a community of people who share their own experiences has made a huge difference to me and to others dealing with similar symptoms.

The idea was to support others on their path to diagnosis and treatment with shared experience.

Look after yourself!
