A phased return #2

I haven’t journaled in 4 months. Pretty much since I started my phased return back to work in June 2019 after 6 weeks off work recovering from my second pelvic endometriosis surgery. Taking the total surgery number up to 4 in a 12 month period.

I’ve found this time around so much harder than the time before (I don’t know why as the other surgeries all together seemed so much worse).

We have just come back from NYC/NJ (we were there for 5 days). My jet lag was pretty bad! I struggled to get myself back to normal!! So hard. I don’t think I’m quite there a week later. I pretty much stayed in for a whole 5 days.

Yesterday, I ventured into town to get some bits and collect a parcel. Today I went for a 2 mile walk with Bentley and now he is asleep! Yessss! So I can now relax this afternoon.

I need to do something to get my mojo back! My motivation to exercise, eat well and go for my dreams.

Get that tenacious Lindsay back and fighting for the best in her life.

I just re read the plans I had made in May and I have met one of these:

Plans May 2019

  1. Get into a regular routine

  2. Eat well & exercise

  3. Get back to work✔️

  4. Save for future

I do need to continue with the others:

So plans are:

  1. Get into a regular routine

  2. Eat well & exercise

  3. Save for future

How and measurable outcomes…

Get into a regular routine – Back to work Goal: every day 9-5pm by Christmas

Eat well & exercise – Walk often – go for walks on days I’m working from home – Join NBH on walks with Bentley – Weekly yoga classes – Reinstate PT sessions – Plan healthy meals each week – Cut out alcohol and sugar – Abel and Cole organic vegetable boxes – Track food on My Fitness Pal Goal: Walk 3/4 times a week, track MFP every day, Abel and Cole once a week, at least 1 x yoga class a week

Save for future – Save emergency fund – Invest monthly – Live within my means

A few additional goals I’d like to add: – Read often – Complete garden design course – Paint kitchen and living room – Paint dressing room

I’ll try to journal at least weekly to update on my progress.

12th November 2019

I have been absolutely awful at keeping up journaling this year! I’m back to work 4 days, full time hours. I had a good review with my manager (so unexpected!!) but much deserved. My manager has always been difficult. He isn't the easiest person to work with and to understand endometriosis.

I had a small lung collapse last week so went to A&E they weren’t overly helpful but my doctor was incredible and we have kept an eye on it. I’m signed off for a week to recover.

I wanted to recap over goals and the measurable outcomes i've managed:

Original goals:

  1. Get into a regular routine

  2. Eat well & exercise

  3. Save for future

How and measurable outcomes…

Get into a regular routine – Back to work ✅

Eat well & exercise – Walk often – go for walks on days I’m working from home ✅ – Reinstate PT sessions✅ – Plan healthy meals each week✅ – Cut out alcohol and sugar✅ – Abel and Cole organic vegetable boxes✅ – Track food on My Fitness Pal✅ LBH x

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Thanks so much for taking time out to read my story. I share my story and my journey on Instagram to build awareness about Chronic Illness and endometriosis.

Diagnosis of thoracic endometriosis has been a life changing experience with very little information out there.

Building a community of people who share their own experiences has made a huge difference to me and to others dealing with similar symptoms.

The idea was to support others on their path to diagnosis and treatment with shared experience.

Look after yourself!
