A bit of a set back...

Day 69 – Recovery

So today wasn’t the best day on record in these past 69 days!

I woke up still not feeling good due to breathing and aches and pains so I decided to go back to bed and try to rest but I felt extra dizzy and woozy even in my legs so in the end I decided to call the ambulance and explain my symptoms. It was that bad I even asked Nick to come back home and I wouldn’t do that unless I was really in a bad way.

The ambulance came to see me and gave me some pain relief and checked my vitals. They did an ECG and checked my blood sugar levels then took me into A&E. I had an X-ray and blood test and then saw a consultant at around 6pm. I had a partial re collapse and weakened right side. I was given high oxygen and another ECG.

I was then taken to the AMU ward (same ward as last time) and didn’t get pain relief until gone 10:30pm. I couldn’t sleep due to noise on ward and someone throwing up constantly.

Hoping I’ll get to sleep soon! LBH x

Day 70 – Recovery

I didn’t sleep very well last night I was drifting in and out of sleep. I woke up every hour from 12 midnight then finally woke up just after 5am to go to the toilet.

I am so tired and achy. I was given some pain relief so hopefully that helps.

Looking forward to seeing my friend who works in the hospital today and Nick and Bentley.

Unfortunately my friend couldn’t make it as she was running late for work but Nick came to visit and I was discharged by 5pm so that I could go to see my original lung consultant to discuss next steps. I took an Uber back home to rest.

Day 73 – Recovery

Today I woke up at 6:30am as my mum was coming over with my Nan to look after Bentley whilst I was going to hospital. I was meant to be staying in from Monday since I left my consultant and had my pre op for my second lung surgery but there was a mix up so I had to come home after my pre op.

Pre-op stats: I am 158cm tall or short ;) 8st 4lbs (53kg) the lowest i've been for years My oxygen was 100 (we now know over breathing due to lung collapse) Blood pressure 120/82

It was a long day! NBH came home and I went up to bed for the afternoon.

Nan did a good job with Bentley he loved her.

I took some Kalms, some night tea and my liquid morphine and went to sleep. The pain was quite bad and I wasn’t feeling great.

Day 74 – Recovery

I woke up early this morning and NBH went to work. I looked after Bentley which was tiring and tried to rest as much as I could. A family friend offered to sit with Bentley whilst we went to the hospital for my MRI and consultant appointment.

The MRI showed where I have 3 segments in my lung that air was trapped in between the segments! So I’ll have the VATs and pleurodesis surgery again and stay in a few nights.

I need to be in tomorrow at 2.30pm so no food after 10am. Early to bed and rest!

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Thanks so much for taking time out to read my story. I share my story and my journey on Instagram to build awareness about Chronic Illness and endometriosis.

Diagnosis of thoracic endometriosis has been a life changing experience with very little information out there.

Building a community of people who share their own experiences has made a huge difference to me and to others dealing with similar symptoms.

The idea was to support others on their path to diagnosis and treatment with shared experience.

Look after yourself!
