Meet the face
behind the posts

Hey,

I am Lindsay, I started my Instagram page in 2018 to share my thoracic endometriosis story, to help keep me motivated and to find support during my journey.

I’d suffered with severe periods since the age of 14 (3yrs after I started). I’d collapse in pain regularly, suffered with migraines and allergies. I hadn’t realised it was anything serious I just thought the pains and symptoms were “normal”.

In February 2018 we were due to go to Bruges for Valentine’s Day. I had collapsed in the morning a few days before we were due to leave.

Instead of waiting to board the Eurostar to Bruges... I was waiting in A&E with severe abdominal, shoulder and chest pain, struggling to breathe... waiting for an X-ray.

A chest X-Ray revealed that I had a fully collapsed lung. The lung was like a wet deflated balloon tucked up by my right shoulder.

The first lung surgery showed holes in my diaphragm. A biopsy was taken during surgery and I was later diagnosed with thoracic/diaphragmatic endometriosis.

This lead to a further lung collapse and my second lung surgery. Followed soon after by laparoscopic/hysteroscopic surgery. The surgery provided a further diagnoses of stage 4 pelvic endometriosis. It was all over my pelvic organs and included deep infiltrating adenomyosis and repairs to my bladder wall.

This brings me to now...

I want to:

🔸 Make a difference

🔸 Help others get diagnosis

🔸 Share my experiences of treatment options

🔸 Provide motivation & positivity

🔸 Inspire you to eat well & keep fit

🔸 Prove to you that your illness doesn’t define you!

The endometriosis community has been a life saver to me in many ways. Especially during the pandemic when I had my biggest surgery yet and spent time in ICU. It was one of the scariest times of my life. I am now navigating surgical menopause at 40!

The endometriosis and chronic illness warriors have cheered me on and supported me through each and every day!

I’m doing my best to give back to the community & those who need the same support and encouragement.

Love
